KENOSHA, Wis. — In their season opener, the Carthage College men's basketball team picked up a 87-64 win over Beloit Tuesday evening in Tarble Arena.

Carthage (1-0) started the game with a 9-0 lead over the Buccaneers (0-1). The Red Men extended the lead to as large as 19 with a bucket from Jordon Kedrowski. Carthage headed to the intermission break up 39-20. 

Midway through the second half, a three pointer from Kienan Baltimore pushed the lead to 60-35. A dunk from Bulatovic propelled the Red Men advantage to 79-53 with 3:41 left in regulation. Carthage cruised to a 87-64 victory. 

The Red Men are back in action on Saturday, November 16 facing Greenville at 5 p.m. at Tarble Arena.

"It was a nice start to the 2019-20 season. I thought we played very well defensively and had contributions from many players. Senior Kienan Baltimore was outstanding on both ends of the floor and freshman Fillip Bulatovic had a heck of a debut. Beloit is a well coached team who plays excellent team basketball. There are always have things to work on and every game has its challenges. I hope we can continue to get better for an up tempo Greenville team on Saturday night."

• Carthage had four Red Men finish with double-digit points: Fillip Bulatovic (19), Kienan Baltimore (17), Preston Laketa (14) and Jordon Kedrowski (12). 
• The Red Men went 35-of-61 (57%) from the field and 5-of-8 (62%) from the charity stripe. 
• Sean Johnson grabbed 10 rebounds while Baltimore added seven assists.
• Bulatovic went 8-of-10 from the field and had seven rebounds.
