Final Results
KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carthage College Lady Reds opened the 2019 portion of their schedule on a high note Saturday afternoon, defeating the Augustana College Vikings at Koenitzer Aquatic Center, 195-97.

The win moves the defending College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin champions to 4-0 on the season and to 2-0 in head-to-head dual meets with CCIW foes. Augustana falls to 4-1 with their first loss in a dual meet of the season.

The Lady Reds took first in both relays on the day, starting with a win by
Heather Walker,
Mattea Arndt,
Gianna McGuire and
DeAnn Jones in the 200-yard medley relay [1:52.86] and closing the day with a win in the 200 freestyle relay by
Becca Rutkowski, McGuire, Walker and Jones [1:39.72].

Individually,
Becca Rutkowski led the Lady Reds in the win, adding a pair of solo wins to her relay win, as the junior took first in the 100 free [54.28] and 200 free [1:57.71]. Joining Rutkowski with a pair of individual wins was
Jordyn Bloode, who cleaned up in the distance races, taking first in the 500 free 5:25.84] and 1000 free [11:07.12].Â

Walked and Jones each picked up a second win on the day as Walker took first in the 100 back [1:02.42] and Jones won the 50 free [24.48].

Rounding out the first-place finishes for Carthage in the win over the Vikings were Kinzee Macho in the 50 butterfly [27.53],
Leah Boldt in the 50 breaststroke [32.51] and
Julia Cozzi took first in the one-meter dive.

The Lady Reds will return to action next Saturday when they host the Wheaton College Thunder on January 19th at Koenitzer at 11:00 a.m.
