WAUKESHA, WIS.—The Carthage College men's lacrosse team opened the final week of their 2018 regular season with a road-bout at Carroll University (Wis.) on Wednesday night.
Andy Szun's four goals propelled the Red Men to a 21-5 victory over the Pioneers, and gave him a school-record 64 on the season. The previous record was held by
Danny Morse's 61 goals in 2013. This gives Szun 154 career goals, three shy of tying Morse's Carthage career record of 157. His 93 points this season is three shy of
Jack Meachum's record of 96 in 2014.

The Red Men dominated all aspects of the contest with advantages in shots (54-10), shots on goal (35-7), ground balls (46-23) and face-offs won (24-6).

Szun, who added three points for a seven-point performance, paced all players in the contest with 12 shots.
Ben Morgan added four goals and one assist for a five-point night while Szun's Winnipeg mate
Colin Poitras added three goals.
Luke Seydel,
Adam Gronowski and
Gavin Kaepernick each registered two goals to round out the Carthage players with multiple goals.

Joe Poremba,
Griffin Cleary and
Andy Meyers engineered Carthage's face-off efforts as they combined for a 24-of-30 outing.
Liam O'Connor,
Eron Simpson and
Joe Poremba each notched a pair of caused turnovers for the Red Men defense. The Red Men clocked-in a 21-of-25 mark in clears while Carroll (Wis.) converted on 13-of-27.

The Pioneers were flagged twice for 1:30 while Carthage was penalized once for 0:30. Red Men goalies
Zerik Rodriguez and
William Gast combined for two saves while Abe Escarda stopped 14 shots for Carroll.Â

The victory sends Carthage's record to 11-5, 3-2 CCIW while the Pioneers fall to 2-11, 0-5 CCIW.

The Red Men will end their 2018 regular season against North Central College in Naperville, Illinois on Saturday, April 28. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
