KENOSHA, WIS.—Thirty-degree temperatures highlighted the Carthage College men's lacrosse team's contest against second-year program Northland College at Art Keller Field on Saturday afternoon. The Red Men dominated every aspect of the contest en route to a 24-1 victory over the Lumberjacks. Carthage had advantages in shots (70-5), shots on goal (44-2), ground balls (53-7) and face-offs won (25-3).

"Very excited with a high-spirited win like this after a disappointing loss to begin the week," said Red Men head lacrosse coach
David Neff. "Their program is still in its infancy as they're only in their second year, which comes with many growing pains. Very proud of our guy's execution today."

Brody Ilstrup's freshman campaign continued to blossom with five goals and one assist in the contest, while
Andrew Krom and
Andy Szun each netted four. Szun added five assists for a career-high nine-point game. Ten different Red Men scored goals in the contest.

The Lumberjacks didn't do themselves favors as they committed eight of the 10 penalties called in the contest. Their eight infractions accumulated to 7:00, and a pair of man-up goals for the Red Men.

The Carthage defense caused 17Â Northland turnovers on the afternoon.
Ben Nolan paced the Red Men with three caused turnovers, while
Andy Meyers,
Joe Poremba and
Derek Nedland each had two.
Andy Meyers (14-of-15) and
Griffin Cleary (11-13) powered Carthage's 25-of-28Â mark in the face-off circle.

The Red Men notched a 22-0 advantage in shots throughout the opening 15:00 en route to an 11-0 lead. Carthage goalkeeper
Callaghan Quinn came in relief for
Zerik Rodriguez after the first quarter, where he played the final 45:00. The Lumberjacks tallied their first shot of the game at the 7:25 mark of the second quarter, but It didn't matter as Carthage took a 15-0 lead at halftime.

Northland found the scoreboard for the first time with 4:18 left in the third quarter to make the score 18-1, but that's all they mustered in a 24-1 loss to the Red Men.

Rodriguez made no saves within the first 15:00 of play, while Quinn finished the game with one save.

The Red Men will return to action on Wednesday, March 28 against Aurora University at Art Keller Field. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
