KENOSHA, WIS.—The Carthage College women's basketball team closed the 2017-18 regular season in style with a 90-67 victory over the Carroll University Pioneers on Senior Night at Tarble Arena on Tuesday. The Lady Reds posted their second-best shooting performance of the season with a .583 (35-60) mark from the field.
Bailey Gilbert built on her third-ranked, .465 three-point field goal percentage prior to Tuesday with 17 points off a 5-of-8 figure from the three-point line. Gilbert's performance helped the Lady Reds tie for a season-best .542 (13-of-24) mark from three-point land.

By virtue of the Illinois Wesleyan men's team dropping an 83-74 decision against North Central College tonight, the #3 Lady Reds will now play #2 Wheaton College (Ill.) in a neutral-site bout at the Shirk Center Arena in Bloomington, Ill. (Illinois Wesleyan) on Friday, February 23 at 5:00 p.m. The #1 Titans will square-off against #4 Elmhurst College that same day at 7:00 p.m.

"This time of the year you often hear that it's hard to beat someone three times," said Lady Reds head coach
Tim Bernero. "We're on the other side of that so I hope that will hold true. I'm pleased that we'll end up playing them Friday because the extra day will pay dividends in the long run."

Morgan Vukovich (10) also eclipsed double-figures in their final home bout.
Amber Roberts was also honored during the senior-night festivities.

Carroll's Brittney Wald eclipsed 1,000 points for her career with 31 points on 12-of-24 shooting.

The Lady Reds conclude the 2017-18 regular season with an 18-7, 11-5 CCIW mark while Carroll (Wis.) ends their season with an 8-17, 5-11 CCIW record.

The Pioneers' lone advantage of the game occurred at the 8:02 mark of the first quarter when Delaney Sjong made the score 4-2. The Lady Reds proceeded to take the lead for good and cruise to a 53-26 halftime lead. Gilbert registered four of her five three-pointers in the second frame.

The second half was déjà vu from when the Pioneers and Lady Reds met earlier in the season as Carroll won the second-half battle again with a 41-37 margin. Carroll senior Wald had a lot to do with that as she notched 21 points on 8-of-16 shooting in the final 20:00 to eclipse the 1,000-point mark. Â Her performance wasn't enough as Carthage tallied the 90-67 victory. Thriteen Lady Reds saw minutes in the second half.
