Maggie Washelesky goal, but came up empty at Veterans Memorial Field in a 3-0 loss to the Eagles.

Anna McHatton paced the team with four shots.

UW-La Crosse struck first in the 15
th minute when Megan Carroll attempted a free-kick 30 yards in front of Carthage's net. Alexa Cording took control of the ensuing free-kick inside the box and registered a goal to give the Eagles a 1-0 advantage.

UW-La Crosse took advantage of that momentum as they tacked on another goal eight minutes later. Hayley Stephens executed a throw-in at the 23
rd-minute mark that found Kaitlyn Villars in the box, who beat Lady Reds goalkeeper
Emily Furmanek with a shot to widen the Eagles' lead to 2-0.

Furmanek responded with four big saves the remainder of the first half to keep the score 2-0 at intermission. The Lady Reds peppered nine first-half shots while UW-La Crosse generated 12.

UW-La Crosse opened the second half with eight shots before they mustered a goal. Among those shots was a penalty kick attempt from Cording that hit the post in the 56
th minute.

Cording eventually scored for UW-La Crosse in the 59
th minute to widen the cushion to 3-0.

Eagles goalkeepers Kennedy Brault, Abbi Burke and Lily Brock collectively registered five saves.

The Lady Reds will return to Art Keller Field on Saturday, September 9 against St. Norbert College at 3:30 p.m.
