KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carthage College men's volleyball team closed out their regular season on Saturday with a sweep of Benedictine University on senior day, 3-0.Â

Prior to the match Carthage recognized the Red Men's trio of seniors,
Cody Bolan,
Marc Hansen and
Griffin Shields.
Â
The wins caps the Red Men's regular season at 21-2 overall and as the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League's western division champions, while Benedictine's season comes to an end at 11-13 and 10-9 in the MCVL.

As a team the Red Men out hit the Eagles, .356 to .114, while totaling 40 kills to Benedictine's 29.

The Red Men were led by
Marc Hansen and
Evan Walsh 13 kills apiece, while
Matt Reinsel had 37 assists compared to the Eagles' 28 total as a team. Walsh, along with
Max Bongratz, each blasted four aces as the Red Men tallied 11 aces overall.

Zach Lillig and Reinsel led the Red Men at the net with six and four blocks apiece, while
Marc Hansen added a team high eight digs and
Cody Bolan had seven.

Carthage will now look towards their post season beginning next Friday with a MCVL semifinal match against the east division's number-two seed, the Lions of Mount St. Joseph University. Times for next weekend's tournament at Dominican University have yet to be announced.
