KENOSHA, WIS.—The Carthage College men's lacrosse team hosted Carroll University (Wis.) in their 2017 regular season finale on Saturday afternoon. The Red Men cruised to a 10-2 victory over Carroll University (Wis.) to secure the outright 2017 CCIW Men's Lacrosse Regular Season Title. The victory also widens Carthage's win streak to seven games.

The Red Men have now captured at least a share of the CCIW Regular Season Championship for the third consecutive season. The #1 Red Men will host #4 Augustana College (Ill.) in the CCIW Semifinals on Wednesday, May 3
rd at Art Keller Field.Â

Andy Szun paced the Red Men offense with four goals and two assists for six points in the contest. Three other Carthage players contributed two points.
Andy Meyers tallied a 10-for-12 mark from the faceoff circle while
Connor Nelson and
Jordyn Williams commanded the Red Men defense with three caused turnovers a piece.

The Red Men out shot Carroll (Wis.) 62-11 in the contest.

Carthage concludes the regular season with a 15-3, 6-0 CCIW mark while Carroll (Wis.) falls to 4-12, 0-6 CCIW.

The Carthage defense forced 16 Carroll (Wis.) turnovers throughout the opening half en route to holding them to just five shots in that time span. On the other hand, the Red Men peppered Carroll (Wis.) for 29 shots to cruise to a 6-0 halftime lead.
Andy Szun tallied half of Carthage's goals in the first half, which gave him his eighth 3+ goal game of the season.

The third quarter was the same remedy as Carthage drew 10 Carroll (Wis.) turnovers in the frame. It didn't result in a goal until the 2:45 mark of the third when
Billy Lane's man-up tally made the score 7-0.
Ethan Flight and Szun each notched a goal within the final 2:00 of the third to widen the margin to 9-0.

The Pioneers spoiled Carthage's shutout bid with 11:59 left in the fourth to make the score 9-1. The Red Men out shot Carroll (Wis.) 13-4 from that point forward to secure a 10-2 victory.
