Baseball Dominates Titans In Series Finale, 11-0

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Carthage College baseball team snapped their three-game skid on Sunday, taking the final game of this weekend's three-game series with the Illinois Wesleyan University Titans, 11-0 in seven innings.

The win moves the Red Men to 9-9 on the season and 2-3 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, while the Titans fall to 9-7 and 2-1 in the CCIW.

Junior Kevin Tibor moved to 5-0 on the season with a complete game win.  Over seven innings, Tibor allowed just four hits and walked three while striking out seven to lead the Red Men.  Tibor also worked out of multiple jams, stranding nine Titans on the base paths in the win.

The Red Men struck early with a five run first that knocked the Titans starter, Nick Huskisson out after just two-thirds of an inning.

With two outs in the first the Red Men opened the scoring with a Ryan Rodgers RBI single to score leadoff man Drew Korosic.  Following a walk to Nick Pierce to load the bases, the Red Men scored on three straight RBI singles by Ryan Kramer, Zach Wade and Myles Farley.

An RBI sacrifice fly by Zach Wade scored Rodgers in the third before the Red Men exploded once again in the fourth.  With two runs across in the fourth and leading 8-0, Myles Farley delivered a two-RBI single to left, scoring Kramer and Rodgers.

Farley capped his big day off with another RBI single in the seventh to put the Red Men up 11-0.  He finished the day 3-4 at the plate with four RBIs.  Zach Wade also had a strong day as he tallied three RBIs, while going 1-3 at the dish.

Carthage returns to the road on Wednesday as the Red Men visit Aurora University at 3:00 p.m.
