KENOSHA, WIS.—ÂThe Carthage College women's basketball team stepped outside College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin action with a Saturday matinee against Illinois Institute of Technology at Tarble Arena.

The Lady Reds led wire-to-wire in a 73-38 victory over the Scarlet Hawks.

Carthage improves to 12-8, 6-5 CCIW while IIT falls to 0-16. Â

"It was a good effort, we wanted to make sure we controlled the basketball and not turn it over and we did that," said head women's basketball coach
Tim Bernero. "It was a great opportunity to get everyone some playing time and was fun to see everyone have some success today."

The Lady Reds launched a single-game record 40 three-point field goal attempts in the contest, which upped the previous mark of 35 against Lakeland College on November 13, 2015. Carthage also tied the single-game record with 15 three-pointers made.
Autumn Kalis paced the Lady Reds with 11 points on a three-of-six figure from beyond the arch.
Madie Kaelber's 10 points rounded out the Carthage players in double-figures.

Fifteen different Lady Reds found the scoring column against the Scarlet Hawks.
Mandy Hozzian tied for a team-lead three 3-pointers for nine points.

Amber Roberts paced the Lady Reds with seven rebounds while
Morgan Vukovich led all players with four assists.

Carthage held IIT to 13-49 (.265) from the field.Â

The Lady Reds will travel to Elmhurst College on Wednesday, February 8 for a 7:00 p.m. game.Â
