Final Results
KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carthage College Lady Reds opened their home 2017-18 home campaign with a pair of wins over conference opponents in a triangular at Koenitzer Aquatic Center, defeating North Central College, 180-34, and Carroll University, 167-53.
The pair of wins moves the Lady Reds to 3-0 on the season in dual matchups.
In total, the Lady Reds won nine events on the evening, including both relays. Carthage started the night taking the 200-medley relay with
Kate Hugo,
Hannah Miles,
Gianna McGuire and
DeAnn Jones [1:51.93] and concluded the night with McGuire and Hugo being joined by Becca Rutkowski and
Sara Findley in the 200 free relay [1:39.39].
Rutkowski also picked a pair of individual wins to lead Carthage, winning the 100 free [53.72] and 200 free [1:58.41].
Other Lady Reds to win individual events included Jones in the 50 free [24.60], Miles in the 100 breaststroke [1:08.14],
Shae Taylor in the 200 IM [2:19.62],
Hannah Pearson in 500 free [5:30.78] and
Lauren Patt in 100 butterfly [1:02.03]. In fact, the Lady Reds took the top-five spots in the 100 fly.
The Lady Reds will head to Illinois Wesleyan University this weekend for another triangular on Saturday, as Carthage will face the Titans and the Illinois Institute of Technology at noon.
