WHITEWATER, Wis. – The Carthage College women's volleyball team fell Tuesday night in a midweek non-conference matchup at the #9 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, falling to the Warhawks, 3-0.
 
The loss drops the Lady Reds to 12-5 overall on the season, while the Warhawks improve to 13-3 in 2017.
 
The Lady Reds struggled to find their attack in the match dropping the three-setter, 25-20, 25-19, 25-19, while hitting just .048 to Whitewater's .147 in the match.
 
Sophomore outside hitter and reigning CCIW Offensive Player of the Week, Megan Behrendt, was one of the few bright spots for Carthage as Behrendt recorded 11 of the team's 29 kills in the defeat.
 
CCIW Defensive Player of the Week Ellie LeCount had a team-high 18 assists and led the defensive effort with 13 digs.
 
Next up for Carthage, the Lady Reds will return home to Tarble Arena for a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin showdown with instate rival Carroll University, Friday at 7:00 p.m.
