KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carthage College men's swimming and diving team returned to Koenitzer Aquatics Center on Saturday for the first time in 2017 where the Lady Reds cruised to a convincing win over CCIW foe, Augustana College, 205-77.
Carthage started the afternoon with a win in the 200 medley relay by
Esmeralda Perez,
Kate Hugo,
Hannah Miles and
DeAnn Jones [1:52.15].
Hannah Pearson took the first individual win of the day, swimming to a first place finish in the women's 1000 free [11:26.67]. In order of finish of the events, other Lady Reds swimmers to take first on the day included
Mattea Arndt in the 200 free [2:01.65] and later in the final individual event of the day, the 200 IM [2:15.97],
Kate Hugo in the 100 back [1:01.84],
Hannah Miles in the 100 breast [1:08.75],
Mack Ryan in the 200 fly [2:22.75], Gianna McGiure in the 50 free [25.46],
Rebecca Rutkowski in the 100 free [55.09],
Leah Boldt in the 200 breaststroke [2:37.38],
Hannah Skendziel in the 500 free [5:35.72] and
Esmeralda Perez in the 100 fly [1:03.12].
In the final race of the afternoon, the Lady Reds took care of business as Madeline Hoover, McGuire, Rutkowski and Perez won the 200 free relay [1:42.17].
Zoe Rodriguez took first in the diving competition with a score of 176.05.
The Lady Reds will return to the pool along with the Red Men in two weeks when Carthage travels to the Windy City to compete at the University of Illinois-Chicago Flames Invitational on Friday, January 20th at 5:00 p.m.
