THOUSAND OAKS, CALIF.—Déjà vu was the name of the game for the Carthage College women's soccer team on Friday evening, but not in the way you think. The Lady Reds were involved in their second consecutive 4-0 contest in their showdown against in-state foe Lawrence University. This time around, it was the Lady Reds on the positive side of that result. Goals from

Corinne Brennan propelled the Lady Reds to a 4-0 victory over Lawrence University in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

The Lady Reds improve their record to 1-1-0, 0-0-0 CCIW while Lawrence University opens their season 0-1-0, 0-0-0 MWC.

Momentum swung in the Lady Red's favor from the get-go, but it stayed that way this time. Szumski took a pass from
Maggie Washelesky and let a shot go to the back of the net to give the Lady Reds a 1-0 advantage in the ninth minute.

Washelesky continued to be a spark plug for Carthage throughout the opening 20 minutes. She tallied a pair of shots before she played the role of helper once again. This time she dished a pass to
Samantha Sisto, where she fired a shot to the top-right corner to widen the Lady Red lead to 2-0 in the 22
nd minute.

Amy Kappelman poured more salt on the Viking wound with a goal in the 31
st minute to widen the Lady Red's lead to 3-0.
Danielle Noverini tallied an assist on the play.

A dose of déjà vu kicked in for the Lady Reds once again in the second half as they came out firing on all-cylinders. Brennan did the honors this time with a goal in the 54
th minute to make the score 4-0 on a header off
Jacey Kent's ensuing corner kick.

Szumski paced the Lady Reds with a goal and an assist. Washelesky registered a pair of assists in the game.Â

Emily Furmanek got the start in net for the Lady Reds and made one save. Carthage outshot Lawrence University 36-3 in the game.
