The Red Men took control early in the first quarter and took a 3-0 lead with goals by Andy Szun (12:43), Tanner Thomas (10:52) and Dylan Harris (7:53). The Titans would be unable to respond until late in the first quarter when Evan Mok-Lamme and Will Rossi scored with less than three minutes remaining, closing the gap to 2-3 against the Red Men.

Carthage's Szun eventually scored with 7:32 remaining the first half to shorten the deficit to 4-5 and tied the game at 5-5 with 4:35 remaining.
