Final Results
CHICAGO – The Carthage College Lady Reds swept the competition Saturday in the pool, defeating Illinois Wesleyan University and the Illinois Institute of Technology at the IIT triangular.

The Lady Reds defeated IIT 182.00-118.00 and Illinois Wesleyan 187.00-112.00.

Mattea Arndt and
DeAnn Jones and senior
Esmeralda Perez had three of the strongest performances for the Lady Reds on the day with each turning in three first place finishes. Arndt took first in the 200 yard butterfly [2:16.50], the 200 backstroke [2:14.33] and the 200 individually medley [2:15.57]. Jones opened the meet teaming up with
Gianna McGuire,
Hannah Miles and
Esmeralda Perez to win the 200 medley relay [1:53.31] and closed the meet with a win in the 200 free relay along with
Rebecca Rutkowski, Perez and McGuire [1:41.61]. Individually she proved to be the fastest in the pool once again, as she took first in the 50 free [25.02] ahead of teammate
Maddy Hoover [25.43]. To go along with the pair of relay win, Perez won the 100 butterfly [1:02.83].

Hannah Miles also turned in a number of great performances on the day following the win in the 200 medley relay with a pair of second place finishes in the 100 breaststoke [1:10.02] and 200 breast [2:33.44].

On the board,
Zoe Rodriguez took first in the one-meter diving competition [207.80].

Carthage returns home to Koenitzer Aquatic Center next Saturday for a swimming-only dual meet against Carroll University at noon.
