KENOSHA, WIS—Unusual warm and sunny forecasts for the month of October graced the Carthage College women's soccer team's presence in their matchup with Wheaton College at Art Keller Field on Wednesday evening. The Lady Reds used undesirable weather to their advantage until a 1-0 loss at North Central College in the rain on October 1.

Warm weather provides a level-playing field for both teams, which proved evident during the Lady Red's matchup with the Thunder out of the gates. Both teams were even in shots, shots on goal and saves after the first half. The sunset was enough to change the tempo of the game as the Lady Reds outshot the Thunder 8-5Â in the second half. However, it was Wheaton who found the back of the net in the second half of a 1-0 victory over Carthage.

The Lady Reds own a record of 5-5-0, 0-2-0 CCIW while Wheaton sports a 5-6-0, 2-0-0 CCIW record.

Both teams were deadlocked at five shots and three saves a piece in the first half. The Lady Red's golden opportunity occurred in the 37
th minute when three-consecutive corner kicks were rewarded to them. Two more corner kicks were given to Carthage throughout the final five minutes of the first half. None of those corners resulted in shots for the Lady Reds as they settled for a 0-0 draw at intermission.

The Lady Reds found themselves in a 1-0 hole despite outshooting the Thunder 8-5 in the second half. Autumn Rasmussen tallied the game's only goal in the 81
st minute to make the score 1-0 in favor of Wheaton. The goal was Rasmussen's sixth of the season. Â Â
