ROCK ISLAND, ILL.—Sunny and 74-degree weather graced the Carthage College women's soccer team's presence in their regular season finale at Augustana College (Ill.) on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Reds found themselves in a playoff atmosphere as a loss would keep them out of the running for the 2016 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament.

The Vikings were looking to play the spoiler role on Saturday afternoon as they're on the outside-looking-in. Carthage held the lead on two occasions, but couldn't fend off the Vikings in a 3-2 loss in overtime.

The Lady Reds end the 2016 season with a 10-7-0, 4-4-0 overall record while Augustana caps their 2016 campaign with a 9-8-0, 3-5-0 CCIW record.

Augustana held a 5-2 advantage in shots throughout the opening 20 minutes of play, but that didn't prevent Carthage from setting the tone.
Kayla McGuinness did just that for the Lady Reds when she registered a header to the back of the net off
Jacey Kent's free kick on the far right side at the 22:12 mark to make the score 1-0.

The Vikings responded via the corner kick at the 31:12 mark of the game. Bri Frys executed a corner kick to the front of the net, where Jessa Rizzo was to tie the game 1-1.

Erin Ganzke gave Carthage their second lead of the game when she took control of the ball in a scrum in front of the net. She took advantage of a wide-open net with a goal in the 38
th minute to make the score 2-1.

Hannah Lohmeier helped Augustana capitalize on the corner kick for the second time at the 42:05 mark. Frys booted a corner kick that bounced off Lohmeier's head to the back of the net to knot the game at two goals apiece.

The Lady Reds and Vikings battled to a 0-0 second half en route to a 2-2 score after regulation. Carthage out shot Augustana 16-10 throughout the 90-minute regulation.

Grace Iaquinta played the hero role for Augustana when she tallied a goal at the 95:21 mark of the game to give them a 3-2 OT victory over the Lady Reds.
