KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carthage College men's swimming and diving team won their opening dual meet of the season on Saturday, October 29th, defeating Lake Forest College at Koenitzer Aquatic Center, 182.5-88.5.

Carthage started the day with
Sam Gabriel,
Paul Devereux,
Chris Riordan and
Chris Russo winning the 400 yard medley relay with a time of 3:35.98. For Devereux, Riordan and Russo it was the first of multiple wins coming on the afternoon as Russo won the 200 free [1:46.24] and 200 back [1:59.05], Riordan took the 100 yard breaststroke [58.54], and Devereux joined
Lee Hollman,
James Hasbrouck and
James Weslaski to win the 200 freestyle relay [1:27.51].

The win was the fourth of the day for
Lee Hollman who turned in a great performance with wins individually in the 100 back [53.48], the 100 free [48.27] and the 100 butterfly [53.77].

Rounding out the multiple event winners were Weslaski who took first in the50 free [21.74] and
Cooper Hawkins with top times in the 200 breast [2:13.59] and 200 IM [2:00.15].

Patrick Sobkowski won the 500 free [5:08.11] to close out the Carthage first place finishes.

Next up Carthage, the swim teams will head to Grand Rapids, Michigan for their first two-day invite of the season as they compete at the 2016 Calvin College Invitational November 4th and 5th.
