Â
For Carthage, the win pushes the Red Men to 2-1 on the season and Royals fall to 1-2.
Â
24 hours earlier Carthage saw freshman goalkeeper
Evan Bott make a career-high nine save and
Kevin Mahoney scored the game-winner with eight seconds left in regulation. Saturday it was Mahoney again, this time in overtime while Bott recorded his first career shutout for the Red Men.

Sahr Mahoney down the right sideline, beating his man before playing a ball into the chest of
Shane Reilly, who was able to bring it down with his chest for
Kevin Mahoney crack a one-timer to the back left  for the winner.Â
Â
Much like Washington University (Mo.) had the issue of Friday, Carthage had Satruday, taking 24 shots with 10 being on target but not being able to find the back of the net in regulation. Carthage outshout the Royals 24-14 overall and 10-7 on target.
Â
"Another game of fantastic goalkeeping, attacking runs from (Shane) Reilly and (Michael) Modesti, with
Kevin Mahoney staying hot at the right time," pointe-out head coach
Steve Domin. "The best part is I have four guys riding injuries and haven't been able to contribute just yet, main contributors that is. And I think our best soccer is still ahead of us."
Â
Carthage now gets to come home to Art Keller Field for the first time in 2015, as the Red Men will play host to the Comets of Olivet College, Tuesday, September 8th at 7 p.m.
