The Carthage College women's lacrosse team (5-2, 0-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) defeated Beloit College (2-3), 11-9, on Wednesday, March 18 at Strong Stadium in Beloit, Wis.

The score was tied, 4-4, at halftime. Carthage broke a 6-6 tie at 15:43 second half on a goal by
Elizabeth Wittenborg. The Lady Reds opened up an 11-7 lead at 6:26 en route to a two-point decision, 13-11.Â
Madison Griffin (So., Parker, Colo./Ponderosa) scored three goals with an assist and four ground balls, while Wittenborg had three goals, three ground balls and one caused turnover. Goalkeeper
Taylor Sopron (Jr., La Grange, Ill./Lyons Township) collected seven saves. Michelle Dillon led the Buccaneers with five goals.

Carthage travels to Colorado Springs, Colo., on March 25-27 for a pair of games at Colorado College's Stewart Field. The Lady Reds take on Colorado College on Wednesday, March 25 at 4 p.m., MDT, followed by a Friday, March 27 contest against the University of Redlands at 1 p.m., MDT.
