KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carthage Lady Reds hosted their home opener Saturday going 1-1 on the afternoon with a win against the Illinois Institute of Technology and a loss to Illinois Wesleyan University.
The Lady Reds opened the event with the 200 Yard Medley Relay. The quartet of
Emily Gabriel,
Liz Olson,
Mack Ryan and
Anna Thomsen finished third with an overall time of 2:02.61.
Hannah Pearson finished second in the 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 11:25.77.
Hannah Skendziel finished fourth in the Women's 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 2:02.63.
Kailin Potter came in second to Illinois Wesleyan's Baylee Hoecker in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:04.06.
Hannah Miles came in a close second by 61 tenths of a second to Illinois Wesleyan's Brigitte Temple in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:09.92.
Esmeralda Perez also came in a close second in the 200 Yard Butterfly against Illinois Wesleyan's Kristin Wills by eight-tenths of a second, finishing with a time of 2:22.10. Skendziel finished third in the event with a time of 2:22.48.
Maddy Hoover finished second in the 50 Yard Freestyle 25.23.
Potter finished third in the 100 Yard Freestyle 57.15.
In the 200 Yard Backstroke, Gabriel finished fourth in the event for the Lady Reds with an overall time of 2:22.91.
In the 200 Yard Breaststroke, Olson finished second for the Lady Reds with a time of 2:35.97 overall finishing behind Illinois Wesleyan's Temple.
Pearson finished second the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:36.90.
Perez garnered the top spot in the 100 Yard Butterfly finishing with a time of 1:01.49 overall.
Olson finished in a close second to Illinois Wesleyan's Kristin Willis in the 200 Yard Individual Medley with a time of 2:21.29.
The team of Perez, Thomsen, Skendziel and Potter finished in second in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay to close the day with a time of 3:51.06.
On the diving boards,
Zoe Rodriguez finished in first with a score of 253.4 over the course of 6 dives.

The Lady Reds will travel to St. Peter, Minn to compete at the Grace Goblirsch Invitational hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College on November 21st.
