Carthage to face Elmhurst on Tuesday, Nov. 3

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Carthage College women's volleyball team (28-7, 4-2 CCIW), ranked No. 14 in the Oct. 17 AVCA Top 25 Poll, continued play in the 2015 Barker Chevrolet Classic IV hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday, Oct. 31.

On Friday, the Lady Reds swept both the Falcons of Concordia University (Wis.) and the Hiram College Terriers and gained some great momentum that would set them up for success on the second day of competition.

In their first match of the day, the Lady Reds took on the No. 20 University of Chicago Maroons (19-10). A lengthy and competitive match ensued, with Carthage coming out victorious 3-2 (25-15, 13-25, 9-25, 25-14, 18-16).

The Lady Reds proved in their afternoon match against the Tigers of DePauw University (17-10) that they are quick to bounce back with energy and intensity, even after an extended morning match. Carthage took control of the game quickly, and even thought the Tigers came close in the second set, the Lady Reds held on and swept DePauw 3-0 (25-12, 25-21, 25-12).
