"It's interesting," said Carthage coach Steve Domin, "but we got exactly what we needed, which was an early goal in a very even game and many opportunities in the first half. Frankly, we just ran out of gas, and some of that is on me. It's our philosophy to travel everywhere to play the best teams in America, and I have put us across nearly every state east of the Mississippi to start the year. Stevens was ready for us. They were in a dire need of a win, and you could tell they were playing with urgency."

On Sunday, Sept. 7, Carthage journeys up the Hudson River to Westchester County to play Manhattanville College (2-0-0) in a 1:30 p.m., EDT game at GoValiants.com Field.
