Lady Reds Open CCIW-Schedule at North Central (Ill.) on Saturday

Box Score The Carthage College women's soccer team (4-6-0, 0-0-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) defeated Concordia University (Wis., 7-3-0), 2-1, on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 30 at Fitting Field in Mequon, Wis.
 
The Lady Reds took a 1-0 lead five minutes into the game when Lauren Szumski (So., Winfield, Ill./Wheaton-North) scored from 25-yards out and assisted at 5:09.  The Falcons' Brittany Klump tied the game with a goal at 15:10.  The 1-1 tie stood until 78:37 second period when Carthage's Amy Kappelman (So., Arlington Heights, Ill./Hersey) scored, also unassisted, on a rebound goal.  Concordia (Wis.) had a 16-14 edge in shots and a 5-2 margin in corner kicks,  Lady Reds goalkeeper Abby Alm (Jr., North Branch, Minn.) collected six saves. 
 
The Lady Reds travel to Naperville, Ill., on Saturday, Oct. 4 to open their CCIW-schedule with a Noon match against North Central College (3-2-2) at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
