Box Score The Carthage College women's soccer team (0-3-0, 0-0-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) lost its third game in a row to start the season on Tuesday, Sept. 2 by dropping a 3-2 decision to Lake Forest College (2-0-0) at Farwell Field in Lake Forest, Ill. The Foresters' Michelle Greeneway scored all three Lake Forest goals.
Greeneway gave the Foresters an early lead when she scored at 25:17 first period, assisted by Michele Giurovici. The Lady Reds'
Jessica Socha (Sr., Crestwood, Ill./Chicago-Marist) tied the game with a goal at 30:17, assisted by Kayla McGuiness. Carthage took a 2-1 lead early in the second half when
Corinne Brennan (So., New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way West) scored at 47:24, assisted by
Cori Calcaterra. Lake Forest tied the game, 2-2, at 67:12 on a second goal by Greeneway, assisted by both Holly Lesperance and Nina Perkkio. Greeneway then scored the go-ahead goal, her third of the game and her fifth of the season, at 75:00, assisted by both Lesperance and Ellen Rogers.
Carthage plays host to Hiram College on Sunday, Sept. 7 in a Noon game at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis. The Lady Reds will also play host to a Friday, Sept. 5 neutral-site game between Hiram and Augustana College (Ill.), also at Art Keller Field, beginning at 6 p.m.
