Box Score The Carthage College women's soccer team (2-3-0, 0-0-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) defeated Loras College (3-3-0), 3-1, on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis. The Duhawks were ranked fourth in the Sept. 9 National Soccer Coaches Association of America North Region poll.
Carthage took a 1-0 lead in the first period when
Danielle Noverini (Fr., South Elgin, Ill./St. Charles-North) scored at 12:21. Loras tied the game, 1-1, at 21:30 on a goal be Katie Truesdale. The Lady Reds went back up, 2-1, at 35:46 on a goal by
Jessica Socha (Sr., Crestwood, Ill./Chicago-Marist), assisted by
Alexis Fahlbeck. The 2-1 lead held up until 92:37 second period when a goal by
Alexis Fahlbeck (Sr., Rockford/Boylan Catholic) extended Carthage's lead to 3-1. The Duhawks out-shot the Lady Reds, 15-13, with Carthage goalkeeper
Abby Alm (Jr., North Branch, Minn.) collecting seven saves.
Carthage plays host to Aurora University on Sunday, Sept. 14 in a 1 p.m. game, also at Art Keller Field.
