Box Score The Carthage College women's soccer team (0-1-0, 0-0-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) opened its 2014 season on Friday, Aug. 29 with a 2-0 loss to Alma College (1-0-0) at the Wheaton College (Ill.) "Bob Baptista Invitational" at Joe Bean Stadium in Wheaton, Ill. 
 
After a scoreless first period, Alma scored both of its goals in the second half and both in less than a minute.  Whitnee Foote scored from the upper corner of the opposite post, unassisted, at 56:34.  Forty seconds later at 57:16, Agatha Weddle scored, right in front of the net and assisted by Allison Smith.  The Scots had a narrow, 13-12 edge over the Lady Reds in shots.  Carthage goalkeeper Abby Alm (Jr., North Branch, Minn./North Branch) collected six saves.  The Lady Reds conclude tournament play on Saturday, Aug. 30 with an 11:30 a.m. contest against Hope College (0-1-0)
