Box Score The Carthage College women's volleyball team (20-2, 2-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin), ranked 22nd in the Oct. 7 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, knocked off CCIW-opponent and No. 20 Millikin University (18-4, 1-1 CCIW), 3-1, on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at Tarble Arena in Kenosha, Wis.  The Lady Reds' winning set scores over the Big Blue were 25-14, 25-22, 23-25 and 25-21.
 
Carthage won the first set by nine points, 25-14.  In the critical second set, the Big Blue had a 20-18 lead, but the Lady Reds scored five unanswered points to make it 23-20 and went on to win by three, 25-22.  Millikin took a 24-21 lead in the third set and hung on for a 25-23 decision.  The Lady Reds opened up a 14-7 lead in the fourth-and-final set, but a 12-6 Millikin run cut the lead to 20-19.  The Big Blue still trailed by a point, 22-21 by an attack error by Erin Syverson, a service ace by Carthage's Karen Chin and an attack error by the Big Blue's Audrey Krajec gave the Lady Reds a 25-21 margin.
 
Emily Heuermann (Jr. Washington, Ill.) led Carthage with 18 kills and a .286 attack percentage.  Rachel Fields (Sr., Chicago, Ill./Oak Park-Fenwick) had 17 kills and hit .364 with 10 digs and three block assists.  Bria Hailey (Jr., Hanover Park, Ill./Schaumburg) had 11 kills with a .267 attack percentage.  Setter Karen Chin (Jr., Mundelein, Ill.) averaged 13.00 assists per set, and Hanna Cahoon (Sr., Watertown, Wis.) collected 16 digs.  Audrey Krajec led Millikin with a match-high 21 kills and a .283 attack percentage.
 
The Lady Reds travel to Naperville, Ill., on Tuesday, Oct. 14 to play CCIW-opponent North Central College (16-5, 0-2 CCIW) in a 7 p.m. match at Gregory Arena at Merner Fieldhouse.
