Lady Reds Play Host to No. 22 Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday

Box Score The Carthage College women's soccer team (5-7-0, 0-1-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) edged Wisconsin-La Crosse (3-3-4), 2-1, on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis.
 
Carthage opened up a 2-0 lead in the first 11 minutes.  Danielle Noverini (Fr., South Elgin, Ill./St. Charles-North) scored at 6:35, followed by a goal by Jessica Socha (Sr., Crestwood, Ill./Chicago-Marist) at 10:54.  Wisconsin-La Crosse's Jenna Rosienski made it a 2-1 game with a goal at 38:48, assisted by Megan Gresl.  That was the end of the scoring.  The Eagles' Kaylie Hanson had a shot at 89:44 that sailed high.
 
Carthage had an 12-9 advantage in shots, while UW-La Crosse enjoyed a 4-2 margin in corner kicks,  Lady Reds goalkeeper Abby Alm (Jr., North Branch, Minn.) collected five saves. 
 
Carthage plays host to CCIW-opponent and No. 22 Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday, Oct. 11 in a 5 p.m. contest, also at Art Keller Field.
