Box Score The Carthage College men's soccer team (5-6-0, 0-1-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) opened CCIW-play on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 4 with a 2-1 loss in overtime to North Central College (7-3-1) at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium in Naperville, Ill.

North Central's Lucas Habeeb got the Cardinals on the scoreboard early with a goal at 1:46. Carthage's
Michael Dombrowski (Sr., Johnsburg, Ill.) tied the game at 51:32 second half, assisted by
Filip Dyminski. That's the way it stood through regulation, with Dombrowski getting two shots off in the final 10 minutes, one a t 81:17 and the other at 85:18. The Cardinals' Matt Koth scored the game-winning goal at 94:35 in overtime, assisted by Pat Rourke.

Carthage had a 14-6 advantage in shots and an 8-4 edge in corner kicks.  Cardinals goalkeeper Zach Serovy was credited with six saves "Soccer can be cruel game," said Carthage coach
Steve Domin. "We dominated many parts of the contest, but ran into a handful of iffy off sides calls on both sides of the ball, and some interesting plays. It hurts when you own the stat sheet but not the result."  The Red Men play host to Robert Morris-Lake County (2-3-0) on Wednesday, Oct. 8 in a 7 p.m. game at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis.
