The Carthage College women's soccer team (8-9-0, 3-3-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) shut out CCIW-opponent Millikin University (3-12-1, 0-5-0 CCIW), 5-0, on Saturday, Oct. 25 at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis.Â

Carthage opened up a 2-0 lead in the first half. Â
Danielle Noverini (Fr., South Elgin, Ill./St. Charles-North) scored at 16:33, assisted by
Jessica Socha (Sr., Crestwood, Ill./Chicago-Marist), and
Cori Calcaterra (So., Buffalo Grove, Ill./Lincolnshire-Stevenson) scored, unassisted, at 27:55. Socha made it a 3-0 game at 49:45 second half with a goal, assisted by
Alexis Fahlbeck.Â
Amy Kappelman (So., Arlington Heights, Ill./Hersey) scored at 64:40, assisted by Kayla McGuiness, to make it 4-0, and
Rachel Post (Jr., New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) scored at 73:23, assisted by Socha, to close out the scoring at 5-0.

Abby Alm (Jr., North Branch, Minn./North Branch) collected two saves in 67 minutes.   Carthage closes out its regular-season schedule on Saturday, Nov. 1 with a 5 p.m. game versus CCIW-opponent Elmhurst College (10-6-0, 3-3-0 CCIW) at Langhorst Field in Elmhurst, Ill. The Lady Reds can secure a spot in the CCIW Women's Soccer Tournament with a win over the Bluejays.
