Box Score The Carthage College women's volleyball team (17-1, 1-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin), ranked 23rd in the Sept. 30 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, ran its current winning streak to 13-straight matches on Wednesday, Oct. 1 by sweeping Illinois Wesleyan University (7-9, 0-2 CCIW), 3-0, at the Shirk Center in Bloomington, Ill. The Lady Reds' winning set scores over the Titans were 25-9, 25-23 and 25-18. The match was Carthage's conference-opener.
Rachel Fields (Sr., Chicago, Ill./Oak Park-Fenwick) led the Lady Reds with 11 kills and a .409 attack percentage and three block assists.
Emily Heuermann (Jr. Washington, Ill.) had 10 kills and
Bria Hailey (Jr., Hanover Park, Ill./Schaumburg) nine kills and two block assists. Setter
Karen Chin (Jr., Mundelein, Ill.) averaged 11.0 assists per set, and libero
Hanna Cahoon (Sr., Watertown, Wis.) collected 15 digs.
Carthage travels to Platteville, Wis., on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 3-4 for the Wisconsin-Platteville Tournament at the Williams Fieldhouse. Carthage plays Wisconsin-River Falls on Friday at 8 p.m., No. 15 Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Saturday at Noon and the host-Pioneers on Saturday at 2 p.m.
