The Carthage College women's swimming team (2-3 dual meet record), ranked 16th in the Jan. 13 "CollegeSwimming.com" poll, lost to No. 18 Wheaton College (Ill.), 154-137, on Saturday, Jan. 18 at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center in Kenosha, Wis.

Ember McCoy (Sr., Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) won three events, taking first place in the 200 freestyle (1:58.84), the 500 freestyle (5:19.49) and the 1,000 freestyle (10:55.86).
Susan Peinsipp (Sr., Lombard, Ill./Glenbard East) won the 200 butterfly (2:14.74) and finished second in the 100 butterfly (1:01.66).
Natalia Bialecka (Sr., Des Plaines, Ill./Park Ridge-Maine East) placed first in the 50 freestyle (24.77) and second in the 100 freestyle (55.07).
Sarah Wodnik (Sr., Marion, Iowa/Linn-Mar) took second place in both the 100 backstroke (1:03.35) and the 200 backstroke (2:17.25).
Lisa Perdue (Jr., Whittier, Calif.) was second in the 200 freestyle (2:01.20), as was
Liz Olson (So., Forest City, Iowa/Forest City) in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.18) and
Ashley Gladis (Jr., Batavia, Ill. In the 200 individual medley (2:16.06).
Kelsey Sopron (Sr., La Grange, Ill./Lyons Township) won the three-meter diving event with 144.55 points.
Carthage plays host to the Wisconsin Private College Swimming Championship on Saturday, Jan. 25, also at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center, beginning at Noon.
