Box Score The Carthage College women's soccer team (3-0-0, 0-0-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) won its third-straight game to open the 2013 season on Sunday, Sept. 8 with a 5-0 win over Concordia University (Wis., 0-3-0) at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis. The Lady Reds have yet to allow an opponent goal and have out-scored their three foes by a 12-0 margin.
In the win over Concordia (Wis.), Carthage took an early, first half lead behind a goal by Corinne Brennan (Fr., New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way West), her fourth of the year and assisted by Kendall Craig, at 5:05. The Falcons tipped in the second Carthage goal at 16:45, and Rachel Post (So., New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) scored at 36:34, assisted by Alexis Fahlbeck. Fahlbeck scored at 63:57 second period, assisted by Post, and Shelby Hawley (Jr., Kenosha, Wis./Tremper) scored the fifth and final goal at 77:30, assisted by Alyssa Baker.
The Lady Reds play host to the seventh-annual Carthage "Battle on the Border" on Friday-Sunday, Sept. 13-15 at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis. Carthage takes on Lake Forest College on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 4 p.m. and Wisconsin Lutheran College on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 3 p.m. In neutral-site tournament matches, the College of Mount St. Joseph plays Wisconsin Lutheran College on Friday, Sept. 13 at 5 p.m. and Lake Forest College meets Mount St. Joseph on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 1 p.m.
