Box Score The Carthage College women's soccer team (6-1-0, 0-0-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) needed double-overtime but prevailed over the Milwaukee School of Engineering (3-5-0), 3-2, on Thursday, Sept. 26 at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis.
MSOE took an early, 1-0 lead on a goal by Paula Bohl at 4:43, assisted by both Allison Zimont and Becca Keller. The Lady Reds tied the game, 1-1, at 9:59 on an unassisted goal by
Corinne Brennan (Fr., New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way West), her eighth of the year. The Raiders went back up, 2-1, on a second goal by Bohl at 29:50, assisted by Aly Loepfe. Carthage knotted things up at 2-2 at 48:01 on a goal by
Kara Winans (Fr., New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way West), her first of the year.
That was all the scoring through regulation and through one overtime period. Carthage's
Corinne Brennan finally broke the tie with a header goal, her ninth goal of the year, assisted by
Rachel Post, at 102:15 in the second overtime. The Lady Reds out-shot the Raiders, 23-16.
Carthage opens its CCIW-schedule on Wednesday, Oct. 2 by traveling to Wheaton, Ill., to take on No. 1 Wheaton College (Ill.) in a 4:30 p.m. game at Joe Bean Stadium.
