The Carthage College women's swimming team (1-1 dual meet record) defeated Lake Forest College, 169-11, on Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Sports Center in Lake Forest, Ill.
Carthage's
Ember McCoy (Sr., Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) was a triple winner, taking first place in the 200 freestyle (2:15:37), the 400 freestyle (4:46.47) and the 800 freestyle (9:45.08). The Lady Reds had three double-winners.
Natalia Bialecka (Sr., Des Plaines, Ill./Park Ridge-Maine East) won both the 50 freestyle (28.05) and the 100 freestyle (1:01.93).
Sarah Wodnik (Sr., Marion, Iowa/Linn-Mar) won both the 100 backstroke (1:10.34) and the 200 backstroke (2:31.87), and
Ashley Gladis (Jr., Batavia, Ill.) took first place in both the 100 breaststroke (1:19.81) and the 100 butterfly (1:07.51).
Carthage also picked up a win from
Kelly Loftus (Sr., Winfield, Ill./West Chicago) in the 200 butterfly (2:35.18), from its 400 medley relay team on Wodnik, Gladis, Loftus and Bialecka (4:40.95) and from its 400 freestyle relay team of Bialecka,
Taylor Hutton (Jr., Naperville, Ill./North), McCoy and
Lisa Perdue (Jr., Whittier, Calif.).
Carthage plays host to Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday, Nov. 9 in a 1 p.m. dual meet at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center in Kenosha, Wis.
