Box Score The Carthage College women's soccer team (8-2-0, 2-1-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) knocked off defending-CCIW-champion and No. 28 Augustana College (Ill., 8-2-2, 1-1-0), 1-0, on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis. With the win, the Lady Reds moved into third place in the league, trailing both Wheaton College (Ill.) and Illinois Wesleyan University, both with 2-0-0 records.
After almost 87 minutes of scoreless soccer, Carthage finally broke through.
Rachel Post (So., New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) had back-to-back shots at 85:08 and 86:42. Following a corner kick by
Kayla McGuinness, Post tapped the ball into the back post, her seventh goal of the year, at 86:55. The Lady Reds had a 14-13 edge in shots over the Vikings, with Post taking eight of the 14. Goalkeeper
Abby Alm (So., North Branch, Minn.) collected six saves.

Sara Meyer, "and really took control of the possession of the game. We came out to play against a great team and were able to capitalize when we had a bouncing ball in front of the net. I'm excited about how the team has started off our conference schedule."
Carthage plays host to conference-opponent North Central College (2-7-1, 1-2-0 CCIW) on Saturday, Oct. 12 in a 5 p.m. contest, also at Art Keller Field.
