Benedictine (Ill.) "Eagle Classic" next on Friday-Saturday

Box Score The Carthage College women's volleyball team (20-12, 4-2 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) swept CCIW-opponent Augustana College (Ill., 16-13, 3-3 CCIW), 3-0, on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at the Roy J. Carver Physical Education Center in Rock Island, Ill. The Lady Reds' winning set scores over the Vikings were 25-23, 25-13 and 26-24.

With the win, Carthage clinched a berth in the CCIW Women's Volleyball Tournament and will be either the third or the fourth seed.

Emily Heuermann (So., Washington, Ill.) led Carthage with eight kills and two block assists. Bria Hailey (So., Hanover Park, Ill./Schaumburg) had six kills and two block assists, and Anna Domalewski (So., Eden Prairie, Minn.) collected six kills and a .385 attack percentage. Setter Karen Chin (So., Mundelein, Ill.) averaged 9.0 assists per set. Dory Dudley led the Vikings with eight kills.

On Friday-Saturday, Nov. 1-2, the Lady Reds travel to Lisle, Ill., to play in the Benedictine University (Ill.) "Eagle Classic" at the Dan & Ada Rice Center. Carthage plays Concordia University (Ill.) on Friday, Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. and Lawrence University at 6 p.m. On Saturday, Nov. 2, the Lady Reds take on No. 19 the University of Chicago at Noon and the host-Eagles at 4 p.m.
