The Carthage College women's swimming team (0-1 dual meet record) opened its 2013-14 season on Saturday, Oct. 26 with a 147.50-114.50 loss Wisconsin Whitewater at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center in Kenosha, Wis.

Carthage's Ember McCoy (Sr., Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) took first place in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:58.75 and second in both the 500 freestyle (5:21.38) and the 1,000 freestyle (10:59.98). Sarah Wodnik (Sr., Marion, Iowa/Linn-Mar) took first in the 100 backstroke (1:02.30), second in the 100 butterfly (1:01.77) and third in the 200 individual medley (2:16.87). Kelly Loftus (Sr., Winfield, Ill./West Chicago) won the 100 butterfly (1:00.90) and took second in both the 100 backstroke (1:02.37) and the 200 backstroke (2:17.54).

Natalia Bialecka (Sr., Des Plaines, Ill./Park Ridge-Maine East) won both the 50 freestyle (24.65) and the 100 freestyle (55.00). Lisa Perdue (Jr., Whittier, Calif.) took third in both the 100 freestyle (56.06) and the 200 freestyle (2:01.66). Liz Olson (So., Forest City, Iowa) took second in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:35.57. Esmeralda Perez (Fr., Greenfield, Wis.) took third in the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.01. The 400 free relay team of Bialecka, McCoy, Kailin Potter (So., Granger, Ind./Penn) and Perdue took first with a time of 3:46.40.

Carthage travels to Lake Forest, Ill., on Saturday, Nov. 2 for a 1 p.m. dual meet versus Lake Forest College.
