Lady Reds Face St. Norbert on Sunday

Box Score The Carthage College women's soccer team (1-2-0, 0-0-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) snapped a two-game losing streak to start the season on Friday, Sept. 7 with a 1-0 win over Lake Forest College (2-2-0) at the sixth-annual Carthage “Battle on the Border” at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis. 
 
The Lady Reds broke a scoreless tie at 48:52 second period when Jessica Socha (So., Crestwood, Ill./Chicago-Marist) scored, assisted by Rachel Post.  Carthage goalkeeper Abby Alm (Fr., North Branch, Minn.) collected three saves.  The Lady Reds conclude tournament play on Sunday, Sept. 9 versus St. Norbert College (4-0-0) at 5 p.m.
 
In non-Carthage games at the “Battle on the Border,” Carroll University (Wis., 1-1-1) outlasted Northland College (1-3-0), 2-1 in overtime, on Friday.  St. Norbert (4-0-0) edged Clarke University (0-2-0), 1-0, on Saturday, Sept. 8, with No. 22 Wisconsin-Oshkosh (3-0-0) outlasting Lake Forest (2-2-0), 1-0 in overtime.  On Sunday, Sept. 9, Northland (2-3-0) blasted Robert Morris University-Lake County (0-4-0), 10-0, and Wisconsin-Oshkosh (4-0-0) got by Clarke (0-3-0) by a 1-0 margin.
