Box Score The Carthage College women's soccer team (0-2-0, 0-0-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) lost to Wisconsin-Stevens Point (2-1-0), 4-1, on Tuesday, Sept. 4 at the Pointer Soccer Bowl in Stevens Point, Wis.
The Lady Reds took a 1-0 lead in the first period on a penalty-kick goal by
Jessica Socha (So., Crestwood, Ill./Chicago-Marist) at 9:14. The Pointers tied the game, 1-1, at 24:33 on a header by Sarah Meylor. Wisconsin-Stevens Point took a 2-1 lead at 35:03 on a goal by Jessica Ruch . A goal by Kim Jobke at 67:21 second period upped the Pointer lead to 3-1, and Kaylee Tadych's goal at 82:15 capped the scoring at 4-1.
On Friday-Sunday, Sept. 7-9, the Lady Reds play host to the sixth-annual Carthage “Battle on the Border” at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis. Carthage entertains Lake Forest College (2-1-1) on Friday, Sept. 7 at 5 p.m. and St. Norbert College on Sunday, Sept. 9, also at 5 p.m.
In non-Carthage games at the “Battle on the Border,” Carroll University (Wis., 0-1-1) plays Northland College (1-2-0) on Friday at 3 p.m., Clarke University (0-1-0) plays St. Norbert (3-0-0) on Saturday at 11 a.m., Lake Forest takes on Wisconsin-Oshkosh (2-0-0) on Saturday at 3 p.m., Northland plays Robert Morris University-Lake County (0-3-0).
