Box Score The Carthage College women's volleyball team (8-7, 1-2 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin), tied for 21st place in the Sept. 25 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, lost to CCIW-opponent Illinois Wesleyan University (9-9, 1-2 CCIW), 3-1, on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at the Shirk Center in Bloomington, Ill.
The Titans' winning set scores over the Lady Reds were 26-24, 23-25, 26-24 and 25-22. It was Carthage's first loss to Illinois Wesleyan since a 2006 invitational tournament at the Shirk Center and its first loss to the Titans in conference play since 2003.
Maddie Greybar led Illinois Wesleyan with 14 kills. Kinzie Schweigert had 13 kills with a .323 attack percentage, and Alex Hill added 11 kills. Morgan Howard had eight kills and six blocks (3 solo, 3 assisted). Angelica Walinksi (Jr., Skokie, Ill./Niles North) and
Genelle McFarland (Fr., Watertown, Wis.) collected 10 kills each for Carthage.
The Lady Reds travel to De Pere, Wis., on Friday-Saturday, Sept. 28-29 to play in the St. Norbert College Tournament at the Schuldes Sports Center. On Friday, Sept. 28, Carthage plays Wisconsin-Eau Claire at 4 p.m. and Wisconsin-Superior at 8 p.m. On Saturday, Sept. 29, the Lady Reds face Wisconsin-River Falls at 10 a.m. and Finlandia University at 2 p.m.
