Box Score The Carthage College men's soccer team (4-1-0, 0-0-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) shut out Benedictine University (Ill., 0-5), 4-0, on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at the Lisle-Benedictine Sports Complex in Lisle, Ill.

Carthage took a 1-0 lead in the first period when Filip Dyminski (So., Crystal Lake, Ill./Woodstock-Marian Central Catholic) scored at 7:27, assisted by Stephen Korosis.  The Red Men collected three more goals in the final 24 minutes of the game.  Jordan Innis (Sr., Lake in the Hills, Ill./Crystal Lake-South) scored at 66:21, assisted by Dyminski; Michael Dombrowski (So., Johnsburg, Ill.) at 71:56, assisted by Alexander Marquis; and Petar Tijanic (So., Glenview, Ill./Park Ridge-Maine East) closed out the scoring with an unassisted tally at 75:24.

"Tonight was a pretty pedestrian-like match,” said Carthage coach Steve Domin, “which is often not the case on the road.  Playing three games in the last five days always makes for a rusty affair, but we were able to shake the line-up a bit to present some different looks.  That can be little risky with a team, but it adds to your depth.  Overall, this was not our best effort tonight, and we are still learning to use every minute and every opportunity.”

On Friday-Saturday, Sept. 14-15, the Red Men travel to Michigan for two games.  On Friday, Sept. 14, Carthage plays No. 8 Hope College (4-1) in a 3 p.m., EDT game at the Van Andel Soccer Stadium in Holland, Mich.  On Saturday, Sept. 15, the Red Men take on Albion College (4-1) in a 3 p.m., EDT game at Sprankle-Sprandel Stadium in Albion, Mich.
