Lady Reds Travel to Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Tuesday

Box Score The Carthage College women's soccer team (0-1-0, 0-0-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) opened its 2012 season on Friday, Aug. 31 with a 2-1 loss to Aurora University (1-0-0) at Vago Field in Aurora, Ill.
 
All the scoring came in the second period.  Carthage took a 1-0 lead when Rachel Jason (Sr., Deerfield, Ill.) scored at 51:11, assisted by Jessica Socha.  Less than two minutes later at 52:55, Aurora's Nicole Wolf tied the game, assisted by Kaitlyn Crohan.  Nicci Bermudes scored the go-ahead goal for the Spartans, unassisted at 74:21.  The Lady Reds' Taylor Capek had a shot a game-tying goal at 88:43 but her effort was saved by Aurora goalkeeper Liz Wong. 

Carthage travels to Stevens Point, Wis., on Tuesday, Sept. 4 to play Wisconsin-Stevens Point in a 4 p.m. game at the Pointer Soccer Bowl.
