Men's Soccer Defeats Rockford, 10-0, on Oct. 7

No. 23 Red Men Travel to Augustana (Ill.) on Wednesday

Box Score The Carthage College men's soccer team (10-3-0, 1-1-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin), ranked 23rd in the Oct. 2 National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire NCAA Division III poll and third in the NSCAA Central Region poll, defeated non-conference opponent Rockford College (1-12-1), 10-0, on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 7 at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis. 

The 10 goals matched an Art Keller Field record set against Northland College on Sept. 7 and matched in the Sept. 28 Robert Morris-Lake County contest.
 
Carthage opened a 6-0 first-half lead behind goals by Frank Delgado (Sr., Lake Geneva, Wis./Badger) 40 seconds into the game, Drew Liogas (Sr., Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township) on a penalty kick at 3:13, Stephen Korosis (Jr., Lindenhurst, Ill./Lake Villa-Lakes Community) at 4:51, Alexander Marquis (So., Caracas, Venezuela) at 14:33, Michael Dombrowski (So., Johnsburg, Ill.) at 24:40 and Cale Brown (Jr., Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) at 43:08. 
 
The Red Men added four more goals in the second half from Billy Hamilton (Jr., Arlington Heights, Ill./St. Viator) at 48:30, Michael O'Neill (Fr., South Milwaukee, Wis.) at 63:10, Kevin Hilgart (Jr., Geneva, Ill.) at 67:25 and Shane Reilly (Fr., Libertyville, Ill.) at 70:05.  Carthage out-shot Rockford by a 30-1 margin. 

The Red Men travel to Rock Island, Ill., on Wednesday, Oct. 10 to play CCIW-opponent Augustana College (Ill., 5-5-2, 1-0-1 CCIW) in a 7:30 p.m. game at Thorsen-Lucken Field.
