Wartburg "Knights Classic" Next for the Lady Reds

Box Score The Carthage College women's volleyball team (12-8, 2-2 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin), ranked 24th in the Oct. 2 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, defeated CCIW-opponent Millikin University (17-6, 2-2 CCIW), 3-1, on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at Tarble Arena in Kenosha, Wis.  The Lady Reds' winning set scores over the Big Blue were 20-25, 25-23, 25-18 and 25-19.
 
Carthage's Emily Heuermann (Fr., Washington, Ill.) led the way with 16 kills and a .448 attack percentage (16-2-29).  Bria Haliey (Fr., Hanover Park, Ill./Schaumburg) had nine kills and hit .231, while Angelica Walinski (Jr., Skokie, Ill./Niles North) added nine kills.  Millikin's Audrey Krajec had 12 kills with a .313 attack percentage, while Sara Travis collected 10 kills and hit .471.
 
On Friday-Saturday, Oct. 5-6, the Lady Reds travel to Waverly, Iowa, for the Wartburg College “Knights Classic” at Levick Arena at the Wartburg-Waverly Sports & Wellness Center.  On Friday, Oct. 5, Carthage plays No. 7 the University of St. Thomas (Minn.) at 4 p.m.  On Saturday, Oct. 6, the Lady Reds face St. Olaf College at 2 p.m. and Bethel University (Minn.) at 4 p.m.
