No. 24 Women's Volleyballl Goes 2-2 at the Oct. 12-13 North Central "Tiffany Robinson" Tournament

Lady Reds Play Host to Augustana (Ill.) on Friday

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 The Carthage College women's volleyball team (18-11, 3-2 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin), ranked 24th in the Oct. 9 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, went 2-2 at the Friday-Saturday, Oct. 12-13 North Central College “Tiffany Robinson Memorial Classic” at Gregory Arena at Merner Fieldhouse in Naperville, Ill. 

Carthage opened tournament play on Friday, Oct. 12 by splitting a pair of matches, sweeping Rockford College (4-19), 3-0, before losing to Wisconsin-Oshkosh by a 3-1 margin.  The Lady Reds' winning set scores over the Regents were 25-7, 25-15 and 25-11, and the Titans' winning set scores were 17-25, 25-23, 25-23 and 27-25.  On Saturday, Oct. 13, the Lady Reds defeated Aurora University (8-15), 3-1, before being swept by Wisconsin-Platteville (19-8), 3-0.  Carthage's winning set scores over Aurora were 25-13, 22-25, 25-17 and 25-16, while the Pioneers' winning scores over the Lady Reds were 25-22, 25-21 and 26-24. 

Bria Hailey (Fr., Hanover Park, Ill./Schaumburg) collected a team-high 10 kills and hit .625 in the win over Rockford…Hailey had 20 kills with a .417 attack percentage against Wisconsin-Oshkosh, while Emily Heuermann (Fr., Washington, Ill.) had 13 kills and Katie Stensland (So., Arlington Heights, Ill./Rolling Meadows) 10 kills…Anna Domalewski (Fr., Eden Prairie, Wis.) collected 12 kills against Aurora, with both Heuermann and Genelle McFarland (Fr., Watertown, Wis.) picking up 11 kills each…Heuermann had a team-high eight kills against Wisconsin-Platteville.  Setter Karen Chin (Fr., Mundelein, Ill.), who averaged 7.00 assists per set over the four matches, was named to the all-tournament team. 

Carthage plays host to CCIW-opponent Augustana College (Ill.) on Friday, Oct. 19 in a 7:30 p.m. match at Tarble Arena in Kenosha, Wis.
