The Carthage College women's soccer team (3-3-1, 0-0-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) defeated Carroll University (1-4-0), 3-2, on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis. 

Carthage scored twice in the first period on goals by Taylor Capek (So., Englewood, Colo./Cherry Creek), assisted by Rachel Jason (Jr., Deerfield, Ill.), at 36:15, and Jason, assisted by both Kasie Jabeck and Michelle Sobey, Jason's fifth goal of the year, at 41:45. The Pioneers scored on goal by Sarah Tennant at 68:53 second period, before the Lady Reds took a 3-1 lead at 70:00 on a goal by Nanda Holler (So., Chicago, Ill./St. Scholastica Academy). Carroll's Tennant closed out the scoring with a free-kick goal at 72:00. Carthage out-shot Carroll (Wis.), 10-8. 

On Friday-Sunday, Sept. 23-25, the Lady Reds play host to the Carthage “Battle on the Border,” also at Art Keller Field. Carthage plays Spalding University (0-5-0) on Friday, Sept. 23 at 5 p.m. and Clarke University on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 2 p.m.
