The Carthage College men's tennis team (9-3, 0-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) lost to Wisconsin-La Crosse (9-4), 5-4, on Monday, March 14 in Orlando, Fla. 

Jeff Lotz Jr., (So., Racine, Wis./Horlick, 11-2) lost to the Eagles' Nick Piotrowski at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-4, while Daneric Hazelman (Jr., Lautoka, Fiji Islands/Natabua, 12-2), ranked 15th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Central Region rankings, won over Nathan Fekete, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 2 singles.  Matt Whiteside (Jr., Sacramento, Calif./Natomas Pacific Pathways Prep, 9-2) lost at No. 3 singles, as did Alex McLean (Jr., Belleville, Ill./West, 0-1) at No. 4 singles and Nick Boomgarden (Jr., Fitchburg, Wis./Verona Area, 6-6) at No. 5 singles. Brian Howes (So., Bartlett, Ill., 5-6) was a winner at No. 6 singles. 

Carthage's No. 1 doubles team of Hazelman and Lotz (12-2), ranked 25th in the region, won over UW-La Crosse. The No. 2 team of Whiteside and Boomgarden (9-3) fell to the Eagles, but the No. 3 tandem of Howes and Russell Mull (Jr., Lake Forest, Ill., 5-2) was a winner. 

The Red Men take on the College of St. Scholastica on Tuesday, March 15 at 11 a.m., EDT.
